Cricket is a bat-and-ball sport that is played between two teams of 11 players each. This is a sport that originated in England all the way back in the 1500s. It took almost 200 years for Cricket to take England by storm. As a matter of fact, it became the national sport of England. By the 1800s, the popularity of Cricket made its way overseas.

Cricket is played in approximately 100 different countries, but it is still an incredible sport in England. You will not find another country that is so heavily involved in Cricket than its birthplace.

As for how Cricket is played, it is played on a special field that has what is called a “pitch” in the centre of it. Players bat in order to score as many runs as they can without being out. The other team does such activities as “fields” and “bowls” to try and out the players on the other team.

And believe it or not, the game does not always have a set amount of time. Some games can last 5 days while others have 20 overs per side and that’s it, which is what you will see in professional Cricket.
